Hadash and CPI: Israeli Gov’t is Knowingly Flaming a Regional War

Far Right Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave a statement to the press on Wednesday evening, July 31, and stressed that he has “not surrendered to the public pressure to end the war up until now and does not intend to.” Netanyahu. He outlined his deadly policy in a short statement he delivered in the aftermath of the double killings in Iran and Lebanon.

On Wednesday Hamas says its political chief Ismail Haniyeh was killed in an Israeli missile attack in Iran’s capital, Tehran. The strike drew threats of revenge and stoked further fears of a wider escalation in Israel’s war on Gaza. In addition, Hezbollah has confirmed the death of its military commander Fouad Shukr, targeted by Israel in a strike on Beirut’s Haret Hreik.

Hadash and the Communist Party of Israel (CPI) in response to the assassinations in Beirut and Tehran said: “The Israeli settler government is knowingly flaming a regional war that will hurt all peoples of the region, including Israeli citizens. These assassinations give cover to the Israeli government failure to reach the war’s objectives and eliminate any chance to reach a deal that will end the war, free the hostages and prisoners, reconstruct Gaza and enable the residents of northern and south Israel to return to their homes.” “These are assassinations against diplomacy itself by a trigger-happy government that can only speak the language of violence and destruction,” Hadash and CPI agreed.
