Extreme right-wing march in Arab town

20 extreme right-wing activists, led by Baruch Marzel, Itamar Ben Gvir and MK Michael Ben Ari, candidates of the ultra-right-wing Otzma Leyisrael party, marched without incident on Tuesday morning in the Arab town of Musmus, southeast of Haifa in the Wadi Ara area. The procession, the latest in a series of similar provocations that the three have held in Arab towns and neighborhoods around the country, was countered by hundreds of residents and their supporters, among them Hadash and Communist Party of Israel activists.

MK Dov Khenin (Hadash) urged Internal Security Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch on Monday night to prevent the march on the grounds that it was based on incitement and hatred.  “The goal of the Kahanists is not to convince the Arab residents of the village,” said Khenin. “Their only goal is to provoke, incite riots, deepen the hatred, and try to profit electorally from this hatred. This is not about freedom of speech, but elimination of racial provocation,” said Khenin.
