MK from CPI to Participate in UN Forum on 50 Years of Occupation

Far-right Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon blasted the announced intention of Joint List MK Aida Touma-Sliman’s (Hadash) to participate later this month in the special UN conference: “United Nations Forum to Mark Fifty Years of Occupation.” Touma-Sliman is among the leaders of the Communist Party of Israel (CPI).

The forum, organized by the UN Division for Palestinian Rights, will take place on June 29-30 and will included panels on “Beyond Occupation: The Path ahead to Palestinian Independence and a Just Peace” and “The Costs and Consequences of 50 Years of Occupation.” In addition to leading Communist Party of Israel MK Touma-Sliman, speakers at the gathering will include Hagai El-Ad, Executive Director of B’Tselem, Palestinian Authority official Saeb Erekat, journalists, academics and diplomats.
