Israeli-Palestinian demonstration in Jerusalem: Cease fire – enough missiles and bombs

An Israeli-Palestinian demonstration will be held tomorrow Thursday, July 17, at IDF Square in Jerusalem under the sign “Cease fire – enough missiles and bombs”.According to Combatants for Peace spokesperson “on the seam between East and West Jerusalem let us, Israelis and Palestinians, sound a common voice:Cease Fire!Last week Israel initiated another operation in Gaza. We have been there before – Operation ‘Cast Lead,’ Operation ‘Pillar of Cloud’ and now Operation ‘Protective Edge.’ Bombs bring the launching of rockets that bring more bombs – more and more. Revenge brings more revenge. The murder of innocent boys brings more murder of innocent boys. We must put an end to it.”

Over the past two weeks Jerusalem and the other parts of the country have been swept by a wave of violence and racism the likes of which have not been seen for a very long time. “The violence is constantly increasing and continues to claim more victims each day. And call together – enough violence! We will demand that the Israeli government answer the call of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to sit down at the negotiating table and nonviolently resolve the conflict.”
The demonstration will be hosted by Mira Awad and Shira Geffen.Speakers – MK Dov Khenin (Hadash), Palestinian spokespersons, representatives of Combatants for Peace and the Families Forum.
