The entire membership of the Communist Party of Israel (CPI) and its leadership expressed on Wednesday deepest condolences at the passing away of Hugo Rafael Chávez , the President of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. The late President Chávez served and led the Venezuelan people firmly, improving the life of the workers, peasants, women and youth, using the natural resources of the country for the benefit of the people and proving genuine internationalist solidarity with the peoples of Latin America and the world against the aggressiveness and domination of US imperialism.

 With the massive support of the Venezuelan people he resisted the subversive actions of the local oligarchy and of imperialism. Comandante Chávez will be remembered always by the peoples of world as a genuine and dynamic leader by the future generations.  According to the CPI, Hugo Chávez’s death, it is a great loss not only for people of Venezuela, but also for peoples of Latin America’s countries and for all progressive forces all around the world. The CPI believed Hugo Chávez’s legacy would lead Venezuela and Latin America towards better future.
