Head of Joint List Calls for Arab World to “Vomit out” Islamic State

Hadash MK Ayman Odeh, leader of the Joint List, expressed on Wednesday, March 23, sympathy for the victims of Tuesday’s murderous attacks in Belgium, and condemned the Islamic State (IS), which has claimed  responsibility for them.

According to French newspaper L’Humanité, the latest official death toll stands at 31. As many as 230 persons are reported to have been wounded by the blasts. Two took place at Zaventem airport, to the north-east of the city center, at around 8 a.m. local time where at least 11 people died and up to 100 were injured. A third bomb went off around an hour later at the Maelbeek metro station on the Rue de la Loi, close to the headquarters of the European Union. Twenty people died in this attack and 130 were injured.

MK Odeh has called IS an enemy of all humanity saying: “The Arab world must vomit it up from within itself, and achieve victory for the nations of the region for the sake of peace and democracy.”
