Hadash elected the list for the Knesset elections

Hadash convention delegates on Saturday, reelected MK Mohammad Barakeh at first place on the electoral list for the next Knesset elections during a convention in the northern town of Shefamr (Shfaram). “Starting tomorrow, we will continue our efforts towards our main goal. Until today we were busy arranging the list, and we are now prepared to take down the dangerous right-wing government… We will soon become a major player in the political arena and the Knesset,” Barakeh said.

The 850 Jewish and Arab convention delegates of the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality – Communist Party of Israel (Hadash) voted in favor of MK Dr. Hana Sweid for the second place on the front list and MK Dr. Dov Khenin for the third slot. MK Dr. Afu Agbaria took the fourth, Dr. Nabila Espanioli, a well-know feminist activist and psychoanlyst, took the fifth place and Attorney Ayman Odeh, Hadash secretary, the sixth. Hadash currently holds four seats in the Knesset.

Barakeh and Sweid announced following their election to the top two seats in the list that they would quit the Knesset in two years time and pass their seats to other member of our list. Hadash also voted a bid to secure spots for women on the party’s Knesset list by a 79% majority.
