CPI Condemns Terrorist Attacks in Paris and Beirut: Solidarity with the French and Lebanese Peoples

“Our full solidarity with the peoples of France and Lebanon in the face of yet more terrorist attacks in the recent days in Paris and Beirut,” said on Saturday a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Israel (CPI), Majed Abu-Younes during a seminar on workers’ class issues held at the International School of the Histadrut in Beit Berl. “More than ever, we need to stand united and firm against fascism and terrorism.”

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris that killed at least 128 people in different sites around the city. “We condemn the terrorist attacks and we extend our sympathy and solidarity with the French people and government.” Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian Authority Chief Negotiator who is also a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee also said that the Palestinian people stand shoulder to shoulder with the French people and leadership. “We tell you we are with you and we stand with you and in this fight, in this just fight against terrorism. Justice, freedom, and liberty are the causes and values of France and it is justice, freedom and liberty that the Palestinians seeking to achieve,” Erekat said.

A demonstration in solidarity with the people of France, following the terror attacks was held in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening.  The gathering, organized by the Embassy of France in Israel, was held in presence of the French Ambassador to Israel Patrick Maisonnave.
