Demonstration in Tel-Aviv for a Palestinian State with UN Membership

Wednesday, September 21st, at 19:30

In front of the government offices in Tel Aviv,

At the corner of Kaplan and Leonardo de Vinci street

A group of activists, members of the Communist Party of Israel and HADASH, as well as others, published a call for a demonstration in Tel Aviv, in support of a Palestinian state, on the eve of Abu Mazen’s and Netanyahu’s UN speeches.

The call, distributed in Facebook and social networks, says:

Netanyahu’s government reveals again and again its failed and dangerous policy, in social matters as well as political questions. On the one hand, the government engages with psychological warfare against us, and against the world, trying to portray the demand for Palestinian membership in the UN as something that supposedly is against the Israeli interest. This government views the situation as a zero sum game, with only one winner and one loser. This government has brought Israel into an unprecedented isolation, in the region and in the world. This is a government that is out of touch with reality, and acts irresponsibly, endangering all of us.

A Palestinian state, living in peace alongside Israel, is in the clear interest of both peoples: ending the occupation, dismantling the settlements, solving the problem of refugees according to UN resolutions, and recognizing the 67 borders as the borders of peace for the Palestinian state – here lies the solution. The hate, bloodshed, violence, expropriation and terror, can be replaced with good neighbourship, unprecedented economic prosperity, social justice and peace.

The demonstration will be attended by a delegation of the World Peace Council (WPC) and the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY), who is visiting the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel.
