Fifth “March of Shame” against the Corruption of the Netanyahu Gov’t

Several thousand protesters participated on Saturday night, December 30, in the fifth consecutive week of anti-government corruption rallies across Israel from Kiryat Shmona in the north to Eilat in the south. Protesters rallied to demonstrate against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the corruption scandals in which he and members of his government are embroiled.

Thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv’s central Rothschild Boulevard on Saturday night, holding a variety of anti-government and anti-corruption signs, among them “Corrupt officials, go home,” while chants of “Bibi go home” and “Shame” were heard throughout the rally. “Netanyahu to Ma’asiyahu [an Israeli prison],” they chanted. Among the demonstrators were Hadash and Communist Party of Israel activists with signs against the far-right government, and MK Dov Khenin (Hadash – Joint List). One of Hadash’s anti-government placards read “When the government is against the people, the people are against the government.”
