Hadash leading activist to speak at Tel Aviv Gay Pride Parade

Hadash and Communist Party of Israel leading activist, MK Dov Khenin will speak at the Tel-Aviv Gay Pride Parade, on Friday. Tel Aviv Pride Week began on Sunday and will continue with events through the month of June. The Gay Pride parade in Tel Aviv is the central event and some 100,000 people are expected to participate, including tens of thousands of tourists. Hadash has supported the LGTB community and its struggle for equal rights for years, and created the “Red-Pink Movement” – LGTB organization for Left, Hadash and communists activists.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and is to include a procession of floats and organized groups of marchers, among them the “Red-Pink Movement” accompanied by thousands of supporters waving red and pride flags and enjoying the fine summer weather. The parade route, with floats carrying DJs from the four main gay clubs – Evita, Shirazi, ADD and Dreck – exits Meir Park, travels down Bograshov Street, passes through Ben-Yehuda Street onto Arlosoroff Street, and ends with a beach party at Gordon Beach at 3 p.m., hosted by supermodel Bar Refaeli. The party lineup includes live performances by popular stars such as Omer Adam, Michal Amdursky and others, along with DJ sets by FFF, DRECK, Arisa, 3S0ME, Forever, Evita and Popring.
