Joint List & CPI Praise Deal with Iran, Criticize PM for Opposing It

The Joint List has severely criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his opposition to an accord with Iran over its nuclear program. “Netanyahu’s aggressive rhetoric of incitement and hostility against the Iran deal under the pretext of the ‘Iranian threat’ are indicative of his imperialist and colonialist outlook,” reads a statement issued by the Joint List.

A separate statement released by the Communist Party of Israel (CPI) notes that “Israel is one of the few countries which has never signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty,” along with India, Pakistan, and South Sudan, and adds that Israel’s nuclear site should be subject to inspections. The CPI also praises the nuclear deal as a “victory of the will of the Iranian people in their struggle against the blockade and sanctions imposed on them.”
