Following a threat to petition the High Court of Justice, the police approved a nationwide protest against settler violence, organized by the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens, which will take place tomorrow (Saturday evening) in Um al-Fahm.
Earlier this week, the local popular committee in the city called for a demonstration, for the third consecutive week, against Jewish terror in the occupied Palestinian territories, but the police refused to grant a permit. Notably, the two previous protests were forcefully dispersed, and demonstrators were arrested. This time, the High Follow-Up Committee decided to join the protest and threatened legal action due to the police’s refusal to authorize the rally.

The demonstration will depart at 18:10 from the Muhammad al-Fatih Mosque in the Al-Dahar neighborhood. The Peace Partnership, which initiated protests across the country over the past two weeks, called on the public to join the marchers under the slogans “No to occupation and ethnic cleansing” and “Stop the destruction of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank
Today, an Israeli solidarity activist was injured as armed colonists attacked the al-Kaabneh Bedouin community near al-Taybeh, east of Ramallah. Colonists drove their sheep into Nayef al-Kaabneh’s house and assaulted inhabitants and international solidarity activists, inflicting bruises on an international solidarity activist’s face and head.
On Thursday evening, colonists launched a violent attack on the community, assaulting members of Nayef Kaabneh’s family and injuring three people. Occupation forces subsequently detained one of the family members, identified as Suleiman Kaabneh. The family has been subjected to daily attacks by armed colonist gangs for nearly three years, with the assaults escalating significantly over the past three months.
