On behalf of Partnership for Peace, anti-war protesters gathered on Saturday afternoon and evening, March 21, in Jerusalem, Beer-Sheva, Haifa and Tel-Aviv’s Habima Square against the ongoing Israel-US war with Iran. In addition, small protests were held on Saturday at Ramat Hasharon, Northen Tel-Aviv, Zichron Yaacov, Maon Junction near the border with Gaza, Karkur, Tzemach Junction and other localities.

“Far-right government is normalizing an abnormal reality of endless war, and we will continue to normalize resistance to war. Even as most opposition leaders continue to support it, we will continue to resist. Precisely when we are told that resistance is forbidden, it becomes our duty to resist,” said the protest organizers.
Protesters in Tel Aviv, among them Hadash MK Ofer Cassif, hold up their hands, which have been painted red like blood and chanted “Pilots, stop the bombings, stop the mass murder.” Parents Against Child Detention Chairwoman Nirit Ben Horin, said to Haaretz that she believes “this is a war of choice. I don’t believe in its goals, and I don’t think it’s necessary, it’s causing killing and destruction throughout the region.” Ben Horin added that the red paint “symbolizes the blood and the price that all people pay throughout the region, specifically the harm to children, who are involved against their will in the unjust wars adults are waging.”
In Jerusalem, police detained two protesters who participated in the anti-war and anti-government demonstration at Paris Square “on suspicion of disturbing the peace.” Police said: “During the protest, disruptors began blocking traffic lanes and disrupting movement in the area.”
In a statement, Hadash, the founding member of the “Peace Partnership” opposing the war, said that hundreds of protesters showed up to the various demonstrations. “Three weeks of war, destruction, and suffering are already behind us, and the end is nowhere in sight,” Hadash agreed, claiming that “the government is exploiting the war to deepen a policy of endless war, entrench the occupation, and undermine democracy.”
According to Hadash, “Thousands have been killed in Iran, hundreds in Lebanon, and dozens killed and injured in Israel and the occupied territories, alongside long nights of sirens and bombardments. At the same time, destruction and airstrikes continue in Gaza, alongside severe violence by settlers and the military in the occupied West Bank. Hadash warns that the government is exploiting the war to deepen a policy of endless war, entrench the occupation, and undermine democracy.
MK Ayman Odeh (Hadash) participated in the protest in Haifa and tweeted, “War is not the solution, and it never has been, nor will it ever be. I am proud to be one of hundreds of brave citizens who went out to protest today, despite the rain, despite the war, despite the silencing, and despite the political persecution, in the south, in Tel Aviv, in Haifa, and in other locations across the country.” On Friday and Thursday, three other protests against the war were held in Central Tel-Aviv and smaller protests in Kiryat Tivon, Kfar Tabor, Nes Ziona, Hanaton and Harduf.
