Zionist politicians across the Israeli political spectrum have welcomed US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, with only Hadash MKs warning that an open-ended war could have devastating consequences for the Middle East and the peoples of the region.

Racist National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, who at one point nearly quit far-right Netanyahu’s government over a Gaza ceasefire deal, wrote on X: “God Bless President Trump. God Bless America. God Bless the United States Army. God Bless the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu.”

Yair Lapid, the leader of Israel’s opposition and one of the former Netanyahu’s highest-profile critics, said: “Thank you President Trump for your historic decision. Israel, the Middle East and the world are now safer,” and Democrats leader Yair Golan, described the imperialist strikes as “impressive, important and justified.”

Hadash criticized the US attack, saying it worsens an “already harsh reality.” According to MK Ofer Cassif, “The attack on Iran will, in the not-so-distant future, be revealed, as happened with Iraq in 2003, as a deception serving those in power, paid for by the peoples – in Israel, in Palestine, in Iran, and throughout the region.”

MK Aida Touma-Sliman wrote on X, “The US bombing of Iran is a major imperialist escalation that could drag the entire region into years of conflict. America, encouraged by Netanyahu’s war mongering, is repeating the devastating interventions of the early 2000s with dreams of regime change. This will lead to disaster. We must not allow this escalation to distract our eyes from the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Gaza and in the West Bank. Now is the time to deescalate and reach a lasting ceasefire that would end hostilities between Iran and Israel and the carnage in Gaza.”
