Three Palestinians were injured Tuesday evening, April 1, in a terror attack carried out by Israeli settlers in the village of Duma, located south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank. The assault, which occurred under the protection of occupation forces, also resulted in the burning of two livestock farms and three vehicles.

Suleiman Dawabsheh, the head of Duma’s village council, informed WAFA news agency that around 300 Israeli colonists stormed the western side of the village, setting fire to houses, livestock farms and damaging vehicles.

Meanwhile, residents managed to push back the attackers, leading to confrontations in which three local Palestinian residents were shot with live and rubber-coated steel bullets. According to Dawabsheh, volunteer teams from the Palestinian Civil Defense successfully extinguished the fires. He also reported that the attack coincided with the Israeli military and police establishing a checkpoint at the village’s entrance.

The Palestinian Red Crescent reported that the injuries sustained by the victims included a 35-year-old man shot with live ammunition in his foot, a 45-year-old man who was injured by shrapnel in his eye and hand, and a 17-year-old child who was hit in the eye with a rubber-coated bullet. All three victims were transferred to a hospital for medical treatment. This incident marks the latest in a series of violent attacks carried out by settlers in the occupied West Bank, often with the backing of the occupation forces.

According to Hadash MK Ofer Cassif, “Another pogrom by settler terrorists under the auspices of the criminal occupation forces. This time in the village of Duma. The KKK settler kingdom continues with its terror, and no one stops them. All systems – the government, the occupation army, the fascist militia (Israeli Police, as it were) and the legal and judicial systems – ignore those hate crimes, enable them and ignore my appeals in that matter for two years now. The Palestinians are the new Jews – persecuted, butchered, expelled, torched and tortured, and no one cares. Total moral bankruptcy.”

In 2015, Duma was the site of an attack by racist settler Amiram Ben-Uliel, who firebombed the home of the Dawabshe family. Ali Dawabshe, an 18-month-old baby, was burned alive in the attack, while his parents died of their injuries later in the hospital.
