Two conscientious objectors, Iddo Elam, a leading member of the Communist Youth in Tel-Aviv, and Soul Bachar Tsalik have been officially released from the military prison after months in military prison.
“I fought for my conscience, and with the help of all my friends, family, the network, and supporters – I succeeded, at least in this freedom and equality for all, a future of justice and peace. A future that will become reality. Our duty now is to continue to refuse, to keep working toward that future,” Bachar Tsalik said.

Another refuser from Bnei Brak, Itamar Greenberg, published a post at X: “I am very happy about the release of the Israeli conscientious objectors and my good friends Iddo Elam and Soul Bachar Tsalik. I hope to join you someday soon. In the meantime, in a few days I will enter the sixth imprisonment period, after having already served 195 days in prison.” According to the Mesarvot network “The call for peace, justice, and equality cannot be silenced! We will continue to fight for the release of all conscientious objectors.”
