This Friday: Israelis & Palestinians Marching Together Yet Again for Peace, Independence, and Justice

This Friday, February 5, Israelis and Palestinians will again be holding a joint march against the occupation and for peace, independence, and justice for both peoples. This is the third such march which organizers from Combatants for Peace and the Standing Together peace movement have promised will take place on the first Friday of every month until the occupation is ended. Towards this Friday’s march the organizers have written:

“After a difficult period of violence, fear, and backsliding – we’ll be marching together, Jews and Arabs, Palestinians and Israelis, to show that another reality is possible: the reality of hope instead of fear, of partnership rather than hate, of peace and independence in place of the occupation. We invite you to board the buses leaving from different locations around Israel and Palestine and to stand together with us in a non-violent demonstration, with the message: Freedom from domination and oppression for Palestinians; Freedom from fear for Israelis; Freedom from the occupation for us all.”

The march will start from the roundabout adjacent to the village of Batteer near Route 60 at 1:30 pm and will end at the Tunnel Checkpoint in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Buses will leave from Jerusalem (Liberty Bell Park parking lot) at 12:30 and from Tel Aviv (Arlozorov Train Station) at 12:00. To register for transport by either of the buses, click here.
