Israeli officials announced Thursday, December 3, that Israel Police and agents of the Shin Bet security service had recently arrested multiple Jewish terror suspects in the fatal firebombing of the Dawabsha family home in the Palestinian village of Duma. Settlers torched the Dawabsha home on July 31 while the family slept inside. Ali Dawabsha, the family’s 18-month old son, died in the attack; his parents, Saad and Riham, succumbed to their injuries in Israeli hospitals in its aftermath. Ahmed Dawabsha, the couple’s five-year-old son, was seriously injured. All details of the investigation are under a strict gag order.
Joint List MK Youssef Jabareen (Hadash) said in a statement after visiting Ahmed Dawabsha, the sole surviving member of the family, that “the main responsibility for the murder is that of the nearly five decades of occupation under the auspices of which crimes like this are committed.”
“The five-year-old boy who lost his family in the village of Duma “dreams about his parents,” says MK Jabareen after a visit to Ahmed Dawabsha’s hospital bedside.
