141 public schools and 6 universities damaged in Gaza

Some 141 public schools were damaged by the Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip, according to the Gaza Ministry of Education on Monday. The undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Education said that 22 schools were completely destroyed by the offensive and cannot be used for the upcoming school year. Anwar al-Baraawi added that 119 schools were partially destroyed, and 25 schools were used as shelters.

“The damage will cost some $10.5 million to be repaired,” said al-Baraawi to Ma’an. He added that 19 ministry employees were killed, and several others were injured, and thousands of students of different school levels were killed and injured during the Israeli offensive. The assistant undersecretary of the ministry said that six universities were also damaged by the offensive.
