64 lawmakers already support the bill ‘minimum wage 30 shekels an hour’

MK Dov Khenin (Hadash) tabled a new bill on Monday which would raise the minimum wage Israel to 30 shekels an hour ($8.68). The bill was signed by 64 Knesset members(out of 120), from both the coalition and the opposition, and is expected to be brought for a preliminary vote in 45 days.

MK Khenin noted that raising the minimum wage will strengthen the purchasing power by workers earning minimum wage and thus stimulate economic activity and encourage people to work.
