Public Event in Tel Aviv: 100 Years since Founding of Communist Party

100 years ago, in 1919, several dozen delegates gathered in Tel Aviv to form a Communist Party in Palestine, then under British military occupation.

Tomorrow evening, Tuesday, December 24, the Tel Aviv branch of the Communist Party of Israel (CPI) will be holding a public event to commemorate that historic founding of the party. The event will take place at Hagada Hasmalit (The Left Bank) Alternative Cultural Center (70 Ahad Ha’am Street, Tel Aviv) at 20:00.

Two former MKs from Hadash, Tamar Gozansky and the head of the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel, Muhammad Barakeh, will be speaking at the event as will the young historian Adam Eli.
