“To the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations and Secretary General Ban Ki-moon:

“We wish to avoid the threat of a new and catastrophic war in the Middle East. The NPT Review Conference in 2010 agreed unanimously to hold a conference inclusive of all states from the region in Helsinki, Finland, to create a zone free of Nuclear Weapons and Weapons of Mass Destruction in the Middle East.

“The Non-Aligned Movement unanimously endorsed this conference. At the high level meeting of the UN in September 2013, most speakers called for this conference to take place. The General Assembly in December 2013 affirmed its support for this conference. In the name of peace we demand the convening of the postponed Helsinki Conference.”
