Communist Parties Condemn the Murderous Attack of the Israeli Army vs. the People of Palestine

Spurred by the brutal killing of more than a hundred Palestinian civilian protestors in Gaza since March 30, at least 60 of them on Monday of this week, May 14, along with the wounding and injuring of at least twelve thousand more, dozens of Communist and workers parties around the world have issued the following joint statement.

We, fellow Communist and Workers’ Parties, unequivocally condemn the current and recent attacks of the Israeli army in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, in particular in the Gaza Strip, that have resulted in a bloodbath and the cold blooded murder of unarmed demonstrators, men, women, and children.

The provocative decision of the Trump administration in recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moving there the US Embassy, despite the general international outcry against such a step, has completely unbridled Israel’s aggression as it continues its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories and its massacre of Palestinians.

The governments of the countries that take a “balanced” stance, equating the victim with the offender, bear a great responsibility in what is taking place. The position of the European Union which, as an organized massacre of Palestinians is ongoing, calls upon “all sides to show restraint,” while it itself is upgrading its relations with the Israeli state, is absolutely unacceptable.

We, Communist and Worker Parties, express our solidarity with and our support for the Palestinian people’s just struggle for an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with its capital in East Jerusalem. We will continue our struggle towards these ends and call upon all peoples to expand and increase their demonstrations to put an end to the murderous military intervention of the Israeli Army in the Palestinian territories and to bring the United States to revoke its decision to move its Embassy to Jerusalem.

Among the parties that signed the above statement are:

Communist Party of Albania, PADS (Algeria), DPT Bahrain, Communist Party of Bangladesh, Communist Party of Britain, New Communist Party of Britain, AKEL (Cyprus), Communist Party of Bohemia & Moravia (Czech Republic), Communist Party of Finland, German Communist Party, Communist Party of Greece, Hungarian Workers Party, Tudeh Party of Iran, Communist Party of Ireland, Communist Party of Israel, Communist Party (Italy), Socialist Movement of Kazakhstan, Communist Party of Malta, Communist Party of Mexico, Socialist Party of Latvia, Communist Party of Pakistan, Palestinian Communist Party, Paraguayan Communist Party, Romanian Socialist Party, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Union of Communist Parties  – CPSU (Russia), Communist Party of the Soviet Union, New Communist Party of Yugoslavia, Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain, Communist Party of Sri Lanka, Communist Party of Turkey, Communist Party of Ukraine, Communist Party of Venezuela, Union of Communists in Bulgaria and JVP (Sri Lanka).
