Call for Papers for 11th Annual Marx Forum in Tel-Aviv & Bat Yam

The 11th Annual Marx Forum will take place in Tel Aviv on November 3-4, under the auspices of the Hagada Hasmalit (Left Bank) Alternative Cultural Center and “MoBY” — the Museum of Bat Yam.

This year’s Marx Forum will be devoted to the topic “The October Revolution, Then and Now” to commemorate 100 years since the 1917 Russian Revolution. The forum’s lectures and discussions will explore questions related to the development of capitalism and socialism since the revolution lead by V. I. Lenin.

The forum will include a number of lectures and panel discussions addressing Communism, Imperialism, Zionism and Colonialism – an Historic Perspective; The USSR and Capitalist Globalization; Communism in Israel and in the Middle East; The Russian Revolution and the Middle East. The forum will take place on Friday, November 3 at MoBY – the Museum of Bat Yam, Struma Street 6 in that city, and on Saturday, November 4, at the Left Bank, 70 Ahad Ha’am Street, Tel Aviv, first floor. Admission to both venues is free.

The organizers of the conference are interested in receiving proposals for lectures, panel discussions and meeting on the subjects listed above as well as on any of the following or alternative topics: Imperialism and capitalism in Israel and Palestine; Communism and Changes in the World of Work; Communism and the Environment.
