Several Hundred Demonstrate vs. Attorney General & Prime Minister

Several hundred protesters demonstrated on Saturday evening, June 3, in Petah Tikva nearby the home of Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit over his handling of the criminal investigations against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. in their most recent protest, the demonstrators, who have been holding weekly rallies for over two months, were also voicing by example their opposition to a recent Supreme Court ruling barring protests outside the homes of public officials. They held up signs protesting police violence and calling for Prime Minister Netanyahu to stand trial and resign, as well as for the resignation of the Attorney General.

During the rally, protesters criticized what they allege are stalling tactics by the attorney general in the criminal investigations into Netanyahu and his wife. Chanting slogans such as “the attorney general of the royal couple,” they were accusing Mandelblit of protecting the premier from prosecution. Another anti-Netanyahu rally was held Saturday evening near route 471 at the Kiryat Ono junction, under the slogan “Capital + Power = Mafia”.
