Tel Aviv Event in Memory of Cuban Revolutionary Leader Fidel Castro

The Committee for Israeli-Cuban friendship and the Left Bank Political Club invite the public to an evening in memory of Fidel Castro, the Cuban communist revolutionary who died at the age of 90 on November 25. The socialist revolution in Cuba which he headed along with Che Guevara and other leaders, changed not only the face of the Caribbean island nation, but that of Latin America and the Third World.

The Challenges of the Cuban Revolution - An evening to the memory of Fidel Castro. Lecture by Dr. Ephraim Davidi and the screening of the film Fidel Castro: The Untold Story.

Those who read the major media outlets in Israel or the US are exposed to a one-dimensional description of the character and work of Fidel Castro. In the upcoming event dedicated to his memory, we will recall Castro’s legacy, something on which most the aforementioned commentators do not focus – the social achievements of the Cuban Revolution, the internationalist and revolutionary foreign policy Castro led, and his contribution to the left around the world.

The event will include a lecture by Dr. Efraim Davidi and the screening of a documentary film (with English subtitles): Fidel Castro – The Untold Story (USA, 2001) which surveys major stations during the course of his life.

The event will take place this coming Thursday, December 8, at 20:30 at the Left Bank, 70 Ahad Ha’am Street, Tel Aviv. Admission is free.
